Error Estimates for Calculated Glomerular Filtration Rates
Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is a measure of kidney function. It is usually estimated from serum concentrations of cystatin C or creatinine although there has been considerable debate in the literature about (i) the best equation to use and (ii) the variability in the correlation between the concentrations of creatinine and cystatin C. The equations for GFR can be written in a general form ...
متن کاملAberration balance in error functions calculated analytically
If the monochromatic error function of optical systems is computed analytically by means of aberration coefficients, certain intermediate results of this computation can be used for the investigation of the aberration balance. For the analysis of local minima resulting from optimization, a new automatic technique has been developed that groups together monochromatic aberrations having a large m...
متن کاملGeometric error of cervical point A calculated through traditional reconstruction procedures for brachytherapy treatment
Brachytherapy used in local cervical cancer is still widely based on 2D standard dose planning with the prescription to point A, which is invisible on imaging and located at a high-dose gradient. In this study, the geometric location error of point A was investigated. It is traditionally reconstructed in the treatment planning system after carefully digitizing the point marks that were previous...
متن کاملMice take calculated risks.
Animals successfully navigate the world despite having only incomplete information about behaviorally important contingencies. It is an open question to what degree this behavior is driven by estimates of stochastic parameters (brain-constructed models of the experienced world) and to what degree it is directed by reinforcement-driven processes that optimize behavior in the limit without estima...
متن کاملCalculated Secure Processes
This paper introduces a versatile operator for modifying CSP processes to satisfy particular information flow security requirements. We present and justify an algebraic semantics for this operator, which allows us to derive secure processes from (potentially) insecure processes in a calculational style. Moreover, the operator simplifies the task of verifying the security of processes.
